History

Shawn began racing hobby stocks in 1994, at the age of 17. He won the El Paso Speedway Park hobby stock championship in 1995, only his second season racing. In 1996 and 1997, Shawn raced both IMCA modifieds and sprint cars. He raced sprints full time in 1998 and 1999. In 1997 and 1998 he also raced select World of Outlaw races close to home. Shawn won the 1998 Southern New Mexico Speedway winged sprint championship. In 2000 and 2001, Shawn took time off from racing to help run and take over the family business. 2002 saw the birth of the 305 Renegade Sprint Car Series in El Paso. Since the start of this class, Shawn has run it along with select ASCS and WoO races close to home. This coming season in 2008, Shawn plans to race a full schedule of ASCS, between the Rocky Mountain, National and Southwest Regions. As well as anything else his schedule permits.
